Japanese Electronic Material Production Increases by 78% in May

Japanese electronic materials production totaled 9.44 billion yen in May, increasing by 78% from a year earlier, according to Japan Electronics & Information Technology Industries Association. Permanent magnet production increased by 80% mainly for rare earth magnet while soft ferrite production increased by 62%. Demand maintains steady for rare earth magnet and material price is in uptrend.

Production of dielectric ceramic materials, such as titanium oxide and barium carbonate, increased by 59% in volume. Electrode materials for dielectric ceramics, such as silver, palladium and nickel, decreased by 3% in volume.
