Hyundai Steel to Increase Export Price by US$ 40-50

Hyundai Steel announced on Tuesday the firm increases long products export price by 40-50 per tonne from September. The price increases to CFR US$ 710 or around 60,800 yen for H-beam to Southeast Asia, US$ 720-730 for sheet pile to China and US$ 600 for concrete reinforcing steel bar to Singapore. The firm eyes additional price hike to cover higher raw materials cost when the cost increases more than US$ 100.

Turkish steel maker booked US ferrous scrap at CFR US$ 390 per tonne, which increased by US$ 35 from 2 weeks ago. Hyundai Steel expects scrap price could increase by US$ 20-30 until the end of August. Hyundai Steel forecasts scrap price will increase by US$ 60 to CFR US$ 420 to East Asia in August from July.
