GS Yuasa Corporation announced on Wednesday the firm succeeded to get order for industrial lithium ion battery from light rail vehicle system in USA. The first offshore order for GS Yuasa is used for rechargeable battery system of LFX-300, which Kinki Sharyo developed for US market. The firm tries to develop the market for large industrial lithium ion battery in other applications.
GS Yuasa developed industrial lithium ion battery module, LIM30H-8A for rail and other large capacity battery applications. The firm and Kinki Sharyo developed the rechargeable battery system with the module for rail car. Kinki Sharyo developed light weight LFX-300 with the battery system. LFX-300 runs without trolley line while the rail car charges the battery during running in trolley line zone.
