Japan Rolled Al Market Price Increases in July

Japanese rolled aluminium market price increased by 10 yen per kilogram in Osaka and Nagoya in July from June and by 5 yen for 4 items in Tokyo, announced by the dealers’ group on Wednesday. The market price increased when Japanese primary aluminium ingot price increased by 10 yen to 260 yen for July-September from April-June. The primary ingot price could turn downward in October. However, the dealers aim to increase the selling price when the demand remains firm.

The dealers increased rolled aluminium selling price when Japanese primary aluminium ingot price increased by 10 yen per kilogram. However, the price of small sized plate and free cutting bar increased by only 5 yen in Tokyo while the price increase was delayed for the items at the dealers’ selling price under the uptrend market. The price of large sized plate and 63S shape was same level in July as June price. The range of increase stayed at low level in Tokyo due to the dealers’ competition and potential weak tone of primary ingot price.
