Japan Ferrous Scrap Export Shows 6.2% Month-to-Month Increase in July

Japanese ferrous scrap export increased by 6.2% to around 446,000 tonnes in July from June, which showed first increase in 3 months, according to Ministry of Finance. The export decreased by 48.3% from a year earlier

The export decreased by 29.3% to around 147,000 tonnes to South Korea in July from June. The export to South Korea showed month-to-month decrease for 3 straight months through July. The export decreased by 40.2% to South Korea from a year earlier.

The export increased by 34.4% to 262,000 tonnes to China and to 2.8 times at 28,000 tonnes to Taiwan. The export increased for 2 straight months to China and represented first increase in 2 months to Taiwan. The export decreased by 52.5% to China and by 20% to Taiwan from a year earlier.
