Japan H-beam Export Declines by 31% in July

Japanese H-beam export decreased by 30.7% to 25,262 tonnes in July from June, according to Ministry of Finance. The averaged price decreased by 3,800 yen to around FOB 66,000 yen. The export to Singapore increased to 2.5 times at 12,272 tonnes topping traditional destination of South Korea. The export to Singapore was 9,339 tonnes from Sakai Branch Customs and 1,679 tonnes from Mizushima Branch Customs while the export to South Korea was 2,921 tonnes from Kashima Branch Customs and 1,347 tonnes from Chiba Branch Customs.

The H-beam import decreased by 58.1% to 6,319 tonnes in July from June. The averaged price declined by 3,400 yen to around CIF 63,200 yen per tonne. The arrival decreased by 72.7% to 3,309 tonnes from South Korea and by 56.4% to 2,999 tonnes from China. The arrival from South Korea was 2,218 tonnes at Chiba Branch Customs and 1,037 tonnes at Sakai while the import from China was 2,892 tonnes at Shimizu Branch Customs.
