Kotobuki Industries Starts Special Steel Bloom Supply to Feng Hsin Iron & Steel

Kotobuki Industries, Japanese special steel maker, closed a 3-year contract to supply special steel bloom to Feng Hsin Iron & Steel, Taiwanese electric furnace steel maker. Kotobuki Steel exports special steel bloom to Feng Hsin at 30,000-50,000 tonnes per year for 2011-2013. The 3-year revenue is expected to total approximately 8.5 billion yen. Kotobuki Industries can keep stable operation by long-term contracts.

Kotobuki Industries produces special steel bloom at Hiroshi works in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan and exports the products to Feng Hsin Iron & Steel through Mitsui Corporation, Japanese major general trader. The bloom size is 30 centimeters by 40 centimeters width and 6.5 meters length. Feng Hsin rolls supplied bloom into special steel bar applied to industrial machines construction machines or chemical plants.

Feng Hsin has sought stable supply source of special steel bloom. Kotobuki Industries has aimed to cultivate new customers in addition to the existent largest customer, POSCO of South Korea. Kotobuki Industries’ production capacity is 200,000 tonnes per year dedicated to special steel bloom. The firm supplies bloom to POSCO at approximately 400,000 tonnes per year based on a 3-year contract.
