Tokuden Establishes Wear Resistant Clad Steel Sheet Plant in China

Hyogo based special welding material maker, Tokuden announced on Friday the firm establishes a wholly owned subsidiary to manufacture wear resistant clad steel sheet in Tianjin, China in January 2011. The production will start in May 2011. Tokuden plans to supply the products for Chinese steel and cement industries and follow the growing demand.

The capital fund is 300 million yen wholly invested by Tokuden. The operation will start with 40 employees. Tokuden didn’t reveal the detail of the subsidiary’s capacity and output plan.

Wear resistant clad steel sheet is widely adopted to productive facilities for steel and cement. The demand is expected to increase largely in China along with strong growth of steel and cement industries in the country. Tokuden aims to follow the demand expansion through the 100% subsidiary.
