Hitachi Powdered Metals to Establish Plant in Indonesia

Japanese powder metallurgical products maker, Hitachi Powdered Metals establishes a plant in Indonesia with 1.3 billion yen capital expenditure, announced by its parent firm, Hitachi Chemical on Thursday. The new manufacturing site, Hitachi Powdered Metals Indonesia would be established in Suryacipta industrial estate near Jakarta in November. The new plant starts the operation from April 2012. The firm aims to secure more than 40% market share of the powder products for automobile and motorcycle in Indonesia in 2015 when automobile and motorcycle market in the country is expected to increase to twice in next five years.

The employees of Hitachi Powdered Metals Indonesia are estimated at about 100 in April 2012. Hitachi Powdered Metals has exported powder metallurgical products to Indonesia from subsidiaries in Thailand and Singapore. The firm aims to increase the sales in the country through the new manufacturing site.
