Japan Rebar and H-beam Makers Stay Selling Price in October

Kyoei Steel announced on Wednesday the firm didn’t change the selling price of rebar in all works for the contract in October. The firm maintains low production with the demand. The firm considers the price hike after November contract with domestic and overseas market condition.

The firm raised the selling price by 5,000 yen per tonne for the improvement of the profit for the contract in September. However, the market price didn’t rise. Some dealers sell it cheaper price.

Domestic ferrous scrap price is decreasing, while Chinese steel market price is rising due to reduced electric power supply by Chinese government measure. Steel market condition isn’t clear.

Yamato Steel didn’t change the selling price of H-beam for the shipping in October, which of channel and I-beam for the contract in October when ferrous scrap price is flat and actual demand maintains low level. The firm reduces the output of these products by 10-20% in October from September.

Sumikin Steel announced to stay the selling price of H-beam for dealers in October output to dealers. The firm judged it is hard the firm raises the selling price due to dropped demand for building material.
