Tokyo Rope Wins 1,800T Cable Order for Nhat Tan Bridge in Vietnam

Japanese largest steel wire rope maker, Tokyo Rope Manufacturing announced on Tuesday the firm got 1,800 tonnes steel cable order for Nhat Tan Bridge in Vietnam. The firm’s subsidiaries in China manufacture steel wire and cable from wire rod produced in Nippon Steel’s Kimitsu works. Tokyo Rope starts the shipment from mid-2011 completing middle of 2012.

Nhat Tan Bridge is one of worlds’ largest cable-stayed bridges, which has 5 towers among the bridge, with 3,080 meters length. The construction is financed by yen loans.

Tokyo Rope won the competition with prestressed concrete wire cable due to wind pressure resistance from reduction in diameter and short work period from manufacturing the cable in plant.
