Sigma’s Secondary Al Alloy Production Keeps Strong

Sigma Group, the world largest producer of secondary aluminium alloy headed in Taiwan, is enjoying high operations. Shanghai Sigma Metals, a productive site in Shanghai, China hit the yearly highest output volume at 23,000 tonnes in September and the operating rate rose to 95%. Monthly production was each 5,000 tonnes in Kaohsiung, Taiwan and Fujian, China while 6,000 tonnes in Chongqing, China, increasing steadily.

Demand for secondary aluminium alloy keeps strong in China. The export is also active for Japan and Southeast Asia. Shanghai Sigma Metals’ production temporarily decreased to 20,000 tonnes in June when the users expected for ingot price down and automotive component makers implemented inventory adjustment. In and after July, the demand upturned. Alloy productions have also recovered by about 1,000 tonnes at the other sites.

Sigma Group’s export keeps high volume at around 11,000-12,000 tonnes per month, 7,000 tonnes of which are stably for Japan. The offer price against Japanese users is presently CIF US$ 2,350-2,360 per tonne for AD12.1 grade. Orders from Japanese users keep active when yen exchange rate maintains strong though Sigma’s offer price is slightly surging.
