Nakata Manufacturing Finishes Russian Pipe Mill Construction

Nakata Manufacturing, Osaka based pipe mill maker, finished construction of 25-inch pipe mill for Russian steel pipe maker, Ural Tube & Pipe (UTP) in September. The mill produces both round welding pipe and square welding pipe and the output capacity is 350,000 tonnes per year. This mill can produce the largest size welding pipe in Russia.

The mill is located in Yekaterinburg, Russia. Nakata Manufacturing started mill construction and delivery in early 2008. The mill involves integrated steel pipe manufacturing equipment and finishing equipment. The installation completed in September.

The mill can produce round pipe with 8-15 inches diameter and square pipe with maximum 500-millimeter width, with max 22 millimeters thickness and max 18.3 meters length. The coil-to-coil process enables continuous coil feeding and continuous pipe production without suspension of forming machine. The mill including finishing section also realizes production of high quality pipe.

Nakata Manufacturing aims to increase pipe mill order receipts and to enhance new technology development continuously.
