Liaoning Shangyi Metal to Start AD12.1 Export in January

Chinese major secondary alloyed aluminium maker, Liaoning Shangyi Metal Resources starts AD12.1 export to Japan in January 2011. The firm ships the products mainly for Nikkei MC Aluminium and Mitsubishi Corporation Unimetals. Liaoning Shangyi Metal Resources completes the construction of the plant in the year starting operation in January. The firm tries to increase the production to full capacity in summer 2011.

The plant plans to make 1,000 tonnes of metal in January 2011. The plant tries to reach full capacity operation of annualized 60,000 tonnes of capacity as the first phase in mid-2011. The firm will start the second phase of the project expanding the capacity to annual 120,000 tonnes by the end of 2011.

The firm plans to make mainly AD12.1, which will represent around 90% of the production. The firm tries to export 60-70% of AD12.1. The export is mainly for Japan and develops Japanese market through Nikkei MC Aluminium and Mitsubishi Corporation Unimetals.

Liaoning Shangyi Metal Resources tries to develop Chinese market mainly for northern part of China by utilizing the advantage of technology and cost competitiveness. The target is automotive parts makers including Chinese transplants of Japanese parts makers.

The firm agreed with Nikkei MC Aluminium for technical support. Nikkei MC Aluminium sent engineers from Kunshan plant in China to the partner to support launching the first phase.
