Nippon Steel Increases Sales of High Corrosion Resistance Galvanizing Sheet for Solar Cell Frame

Nippon Steel’s high performance hot dip zinc coated steel sheet, named Super Dyma, is actively adopted to solar power plants. The firm has received the orders for 5 solar power plant projects this year. The order volume totals more than 2,000 tonnes. Super Dyma’s high corrosion resistance and low cost performance are evaluated as solar cell frame. Nippon Steel tries to increase the order receipts for solar energy generation when the market is growing under governmental clean energy measures.

Super Dyma’s coating material is mainly zinc with 11% aluminum, 3% magnesium and trace of silicon. Nippon Steel started to sell Super Dyma in 2000, adopted to housing materials, deck plates or sound insulating walls.

Electric power companies have designated post-painted galvanizing steel sheet for solar cell frame. Super Dyma is pre-painted galvanizing sheet which shows higher corrosion resistance and less shape change than conventional post-painted galvanizing sheet. Nippon Steel has appealed Super Dyma to electric power companies and engineering companies.
