Japan Nonferrous Metal Product Output Keeps Steady in September

Japanese domestic output of nonferrous metal products represented year-on-year increase for 15 items among 20 items in September according to the statistics by Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry. Electrolytic copper production represented more than 10% increase thanks to the steady demand from domestic users though some smelters continued low operations against their capacities. Output of copper alloy fabricated products represented year-on-year increase for 11 straight months.

Output of aluminium flat products increased by more than 20% for can materials due to hot summer while the increase was offset by slow down of automotive applications after the end of Japanese government’s subsidy for eco friendly cars. Production of aluminium extrusions kept stable for automotive applications while maintained stagnant for constructions.
