Tokyo Rope Increases Saw Wire and Wire Saw Machine for Solar Energy Generation in China and ASEAN

Tokyo Rope Mfg, Japanese major steel wire rope maker, increases the sales of wire and wire saw by double to 16-17 billion yen in fiscal 2011 from 2010. Mr. Michio Inose, president of Tokyo Rope, said the firm aims to increase the share of both products to 30-40% in China and ASEAN.

Saw wire is used to cut of material of solar energy generation. The firm increases production capacity by double in Chinese plant within fiscal 2010 at ended March 2011, and starts Malaysian plant on November 26th, and built up Wakayama works in Japan. The firm plans to expand the capacity by double in Chinese plant until March 2012, and plans to increase Malaysian plant by double as early as possible. The firm plans to increase the sales of saw wire by double in fiscal 2012 from 2010 and by over 5 times in fiscal 2012 from 2008.

The firm plans to increase the unit sales of wire saw, silicon cut machine, by 40% in fiscal 2011 from 2008. Because users’ order is increasing, the firm started the operation of Chinese plant.

The firm expects the overseas sales to 12 billion yen from 7.4 billion yen in fiscal 2010 from 2009, and to over 20 million yen in fiscal 2011 when the demand for solar energy generation is expanding in overseas market. Overseas sales ratio increases to 15% from 10% in fiscal 2010 from 2009, and to 25-30% in fiscal 2011.

The firm increases business investment to 16 billion yen in mid-term plan for fiscal 2010-2011, and invests for expansion of saw wire at 70% of 7 billion yen in overseas market.
