SWCC Showa Holdings Targets 50% Offshore Sales

SWCC Showa Holdings targets 50% of offshore sales rate in long term compared with estimated near 15% of 160 billion yen of sales for the year to March 2011. The firm targets 20% of offshore sales for the year to March 2012 at first. The firm expects the offshore business expands in roller for office equipment and wiring harness for appliances when the firm launches several new plant in China. The firm tries to develop growing offshore market especially for China.

The firm tries to expand the offshore business under 3-year plan through the year ending March 2013. The firm revises the plan to target 50% of offshore sales rate after the 3-year plan.

The firm started new operation of oxygen free copper wire making plant in September in China. The plant plans to make 2,000 tonnes in December compared with name plate monthly capacity of 2,500 tonnes. The plant targets more than 2,000 tonnes production in 2011. The firm also builds new magnet wire plant as the first phase starring full scale operation in early 2011 while the plant already started part of the operation.

The firm launched commercial operation of new plant to make parts of appliances in 2011. The firm expects the new plant contributes to offshore power distribution network project order for ultra high voltage cable by the subsidiary, Exsym Corporation when the Chinese new plant can make lower cost parts.

SWCC Showa Holdings makes roller for office equipment and wiring harness for appliances at existing plants in China and Vietnam. The firm expects the demand is strong based on the users’ production plan in 2011. The firm expects the offshore sales rate could reach 20% in the year ending March 2012. The firm also improves the profitability to make money for all Chinese plants in 2011.

The firm targets 4.1 billion yen of recurring profit with 165 billion yen of sales for the year ending March 2013 under the 3-year plan launched in February 2010 compared with estimated 800 million yen of recurring profit with 160 billion yen of sales for the year to March 2011.
