Sankyo-Tateyama HD Ties Al Architectural Material Business Partnership in Asia

Sankyo-Tateyama Holdings announced on Wednesday the firm’s operational company, Sankyo Tateyama Aluminium agreed in business partnership with two aluminium architectural material makers in Taiwan and Thailand. In Taiwan and Thailand, market demand for high grade architectural materials is increasing along active construction of high-rise condominiums. Sankyo-Tateyama aims to expand aluminium architectural material business in growing Asian market through partnership with local makers.

Taiwanese partner is Ta Tung Aluminium, a major manufacturer of aluminium sash, door and curtain wall in the country. The firm is the top producer of aluminium extrusion profile in Taiwan at approximately 6,000 tonnes per annum.

Ta Tung Aluminium will start license production of Sankyo-Tateyama’s products such as building sash, MTG-70. Sankyo-Tateyama will acquire about 10% shares in Ta Tung Aluminium on or after April 1. Moreover, they will establish a fifty-fifty sales company in Taiwan with capital fund at 40 million New Taiwan Dollars (about 100 million yen). The sales company projects annual sales at 4 billion yen in fiscal 2016.

Thai business partner is Muang Thong Aluminium Industry, a local manufacturer of aluminium extrusion profile for architecture as well as door, window flame, industrial and electric components.

Sankyo-Tateyama and Muang Thong plan to establish a joint company in order to promote Sankyo-Tateyama brand products in Thailand and surrounding Southeast Asian market. Sankyo-Tateyama will provide technological and sales help. Sankyo-Tateyama also eyes capital participation in Muang Thong in future.

Mr. Hitoshi Kawamura, Board chairman of Sankyo-Tateyama Holdings, commented at a press conference held in Tokyo on Wednesday the firm expects for new sales generation at 7-10 billion yen after 5 years through new business partnership in two countries. Mr. Kawamura also showed an intention to enter Chinese architectural material market if Taiwanese business smoothly grows up.
