Japan Automotive Pb Battery Output Hits 3 Years High in November

Japanese automotive lead battery output in November hit the highest level in 3 years, according to Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The output of battery increased for replacement in demand season in winter. The output and the shipment showed year-on-year increase for 13 months in a row.

Japanese automotive lead battery output increased by 5.8% to 2.396 million units or 18,358 tonnes of lead volume in November from a year earlier. The inventory decreased by 0.3% to 2.167 million units or 10,136 tonnes of lead volume.

Japanese lead battery output was strong in November at the highest level since the monthly output exceeded 2.5 million units in October and November 2007. The battery users build the stock preparing for severe winter while they refill the stock after extremely hot summer.

Japanese import of the battery from South Korea was 374,000 units in November, which also hit the highest level in 3 years, according to Ministry of Finance.
