Japan H-beam Export Price Jumps Up by Over US$ 100

Japanese H-beam export price increased by over US$ 100 per tonne to South East Asia from December 2010, according to steel maker and large dealer source. Contracted export price by dealers is around C&F US$ 800 – over US$ 850 per tonne. Overseas makers are starting to raise H-beam price due to rising ferrous scrap price. Japanese H-beam export price seems to maintain upward trend.

Tokyo Steel Manufacturing increased offer price of H-beam to around US$ 900. Each steel maker is advancing export negotiation for securement of profit. In Asia, steel makers are starting to pass increased raw material price on steel products price.

H-beam export price has moderately-elevated to US$ 650-700 per tonne due to rising ferrous scrap price, which more increased due to anticipation of a rise for raw material price on the second half of December 2010.

Japanese steel makers are raising export price ahead of overseas steel makers despite of higher yen rate. Because Japanese steel makers should keep pace increased raw material price, they are likely to start additional price hike.
