Toyota Motor Plans Daily 12,500 Units of Domestic Output in April

Toyota Motor plans around 12,500-13,000 units of domestic daily automobile production at 20 operation days in April, according to industry source. The firm notified parts makers and materials providers of the plan. The parts makes and coil centers could secure profit at the production level when their breakeven point is estimated to be more than 12,000 units while Japanese automobile output usually decreases in April-June.

Toyota Motor informed domestic automobile production plan for 3 months to the suppliers. The monthly production is around 255,000 units in April. The firm also revised down the monthly production plan by 1,000 units for January and by slightly more than 1,000 units for February compared with the original plan in December while the firm increased the output plan by slightly less than 6,000 units. The daily domestic production is 12,500-13,000 units in January, 13,000-13,500 units in February and around 13,500 units in March.

Toyota Motor’s domestic yearly production plan is 3.1 million units in 2011. The firm sees the production increases in 2011 due to new model including Hybrid car. The averaged daily production is around 12,700 units in 2011 as April. The providers of coil centers expect the volume could be higher in April than expected.

However, Toyota Motor revised down the production plan in recent months. The group is expected to accelerate the offshore shift of the parts production. The coil centers’ shipment to automobile may decrease in 2011, according to one coil center source.
