Nihon Seiko to Construct Fine Metal Powder Plant

Nihon Seiko, Japanese largest maker of antimony trioxide, announced on Friday the firm’s 100% subsidiary, Nippon Atomized Metal Powders Corporation will construct a new metal powder plant with capital expenditure at approximately 2.2 billion yen. The new plant will be constructed in Ushiku City of Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan to manufacture fine metal powder for electronic applications. The commercial operation will start in April 2012.

Nippon Atomized Metal Powders Corp manufactures metal powders by water atomization, headed in Noda City of Chiba Prefecture, Japan. Noda plant presently manufactures metal powders for powder metallurgy and fine metal powders for electronic applications.

Little space is left for capacity expansion in Noda plant. The firm decided construction of a new plant dedicated to fine metal powders for both capacity expansion and even higher product quality. The new plant site is about 36,000 square meters. The construction will start in April 2010 and finish in December 2010.
