Fukuden to Expand Ultra Heat Resistant Wire Sales to Steel Plant

Japanese heat-resistant electric wire maker, Fukuden aims to increase ultra heat-resistant wire, which resists 1,200 degrees centigrade for 2 hours, for fixed wiring in steel plant. The firm eyes 20 million yen annual sales by appealing the performance.

Product lifetime of fixed wiring is short at hot metal shops in steel plants due to high temperature and steam. Japanese steel plants use mainly imported wire for such hot metal shops. Fukuden developed the ultra heat-resistant wire, which has resistance for high temperature and steam. The firm started the shipment 2 years ago and got order for JFE Steel’s plant recently.

Fukuden makes the wire with 2-20 cores. The firm aims to increase the sales to domestic Japanese steel plants. The firm also eyes development of potential demand for hot operations in chemical plant and power plant.
