Toyota Motor Revises Up Domestic Output Plan through May

Toyota Motor apparently revised the domestic production plan upward to near 14,000 units per day for finished car in May, according to industry source. The firm also increased the production plan by around 10,000 units each for March and April when the demand condition improves.

Toyota Motor notified parts and materials suppliers of the revised production plan through May. The firm plans around 250,000 units of production in May with 18 operation days. The firm revised the monthly production plan upward by 6,500 units for February and by around 10,000 units both for March and April compared with the plan in January.

Toyota Motor’s domestic output is estimated to be around 285,000 units in February with 21.5 operation days or slightly more than 13,200 units per day. The output in March is estimated to be 320,000 units with 23 days or slightly less than 14,000 units per day. The output in April is estimated to be around 265,000 units or daily just more than 13,300 units.

The firm revised the daily output plan upward to more than 13,000 units for April while the plan was more than 12,500 units as of January. The averaged daily output is more than 13,500 units in March-May. A source in coil center expects the processor’s profitability should be better than expected due to the higher automobile output.
