Nisshin Steel Asia to Expand Asian Sales for Strategic Products

Nissin Steel’s Singaporean sales company, Nisshin Steel Asia tries to expand the sales of zinc-aluminium-magnesium alloy coated steel, ZAM, stainless steel and special steel products in Pacific Rim area including Association of Southeast Asian Nations and Australia along with India.

Nisshin Steel targets monthly 100,000 tonnes of ZAM sales under the current mid-term plan. The firm tries to expand the sales in offshore market. The firm follows special steel coil sales for automobile industry in ASEAN and other offshore market. The firm also prepares marketing of stainless cold rolled products from Bahru Stainless, which is joint venture with Acerinox of Spain to start operation in mid-2011. Under the missions, Nisshin Steel Asia tries to develop the market and supports the marketing.

Nissin Steel Asia started operation as the local company in January to expand the function while it was branch. The official said to a reporter of Japan Metal Bulletin in Singapore the firm tries to develop ASEAN market and improve customer service to follow growing demand in Asia. The official said the firm accepts more manpower from Nisshin Steel to expand the operation for more sales of the strategic products including stainless, ZAM and special steel products. The official said Nisshin Steel Asia covers India and Pacific region.

The official said the firm tries to market products from Bahru Stainless to replace Nisshin Steel’s export and to meet local procurement needs of transplants of Japanese automakers and appliances makers while the firm has no specific volume target. Nisshin Steel expects Bahru Stainless develops the local market as Johore plant of Nisshin Steel.

Nisshin Steel made ASEAN stainless market development office under stainless marketing unit in November 2010. The firm tries to develop the market through cooperation with Nisshin Steel Asia and trading companies.
