Kishiwada Steel to Launch 785N Rebar, Hoop

Osaka based electric furnace steel maker, Kishiwada Steel aims to increase high strength steel hoop shipment while integrated steel makers have large share in the market. Kishiwada Steel and its subsidiary, Kishiwada Metal developed 785N per square millimeters class high-strength concrete reinforcing steel bar. Kishiwada Steel got certification for the rebar and hoop from Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and General Building Research Corporation of Japan.

High strength hoop demand is expected to increase for reinforced concrete structure building due to high workability. Integrated steel makers supply major part of 785N/mm2 or higher grade rebar in Japan. Kishiwada Metal has purchased the high grade rebar from integrated steels to make hoop. Kishiwada Steel started the development of the high strength rebar since late 1990s to follow the high valued demand.

Khisiwada Metal starts to make the high strength hoop the high strength hoop at the Osaka and Chiba plants. The firm makes monthly around 1,000 tonnes of hoop, of which high grade hoop represents 600 tonnes. The firm aims to double the output of high strength hoop and shipment at Osaka plant.
