Japan Rolled Al Output Rises for 12 Straight Months

Japanese rolled aluminium output increased by 10.2% to 182,472 tonnes in November from a year earlier, according to Japan Aluminium Association. The shipment increased by 11.4% to 183,613 tonnes. The output and shipment increased for 12 months in a row.The shipment of flat rolled aluminium increased by 5.6% to 32,889 tonnes for can material in November from a year earlier, which increased for 4 months in a row. The flat aluminium shipment decreased by 2.2% to 12,205 tonnes for automobile, which decreased for 2 months in a row. Despite the end of subsidy for eco-friendly car, the range of drop was small. The flat aluminium export increased by 33.5% to 22,619 tonnes.

The extrusions shipment increased by 18.1% to 44,642 tonnes for construction in November from a year earlier. The shipment hit the highest volume after Lehman shock thanks to stimulus package for housing construction. The shipment increased by 3.1% to 10,426 tonnes for automobile.

The foil shipment was 3,663 tonnes for capacitor in November, which increased by 24.3% from a year earlier and marked the third highest record as November.
