Higher Japan Nonferrous Metals Output in November

Japanese nonferrous metals production recorded higher year-on-year output for 14 items out of 20 items in November while the output increased only for 10 items in October, announced by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The output increased for aluminium foil and electrolytic zinc. The increase was narrower than October for some items including rolled copper and copper alloy products.

The aluminum foil production increased in November from a year earlier due to firm demand for capacitor and food packaging. The output marked the third highest record as November.

The output of rolled copper and copper alloy products represented year-on-year increase for 13 straight months through November. However, the monthly increase was the lowest percentage since January 2010 when copper strip demand slowed.

The electrolytic zinc production increased in November when the demand increased for automotive galvanized steel.
