Yukita Electric Wire Accelerates PV Module Sales at Overseas

Osaka based independent electric cable maker, Yukita Electric Wire plans to enhance overseas sales of photovoltaic (PV) wiring modules. The firm recently concluded partnership with Moser Baer India and started local production of Yukita brand junction box (JB) for PV module in India. Meanwhile, Yukita acquired UL and TUV approvals for its PV cable in order to increase PV wiring module sales in Europe and North America.

Moser Baer India announced in February the firm started production of Yukita brand JB at its Greater Noida plant in Uttar Pradesh of India. The production capacity is 2.5 million units per year. This is India’s first domestic production of JB for PV modules. Moser Baer India and Yukita eye JB sales in domestic market as well as export to Europe or surrounding countries.

Meanwhile, Yukita acquired approvals of German electric cable standard, TUV, and North American standard, UL, for its PV cable in 2010 and commenced commercial production in 2011. Yukita is now available to sell its PV wiring module, consisted of TUV and UL approved cable, JB and connector, in Europe and North America.

Yukita presently produces PV wiring components and modules at its 3 plants in Japan and 3 plants in China. Yukita sells PV wiring modules in Japan and at overseas with total output capacity at 2 million units per month. The firm’s non-consolidated domestic annual sale was 18.8 billion yen in 2010.
