Marubeni Itochu Steel Strengths Relationship with Worthington Industries in U.S.A.

Marubeni Itochu Steel arrived agreement for strengthening relationship with Worthington Industries (WOR) for good start of Clark Dietrich, the largest light steel frame joint business in the U.S.A. Both companies agreed for establishment of the joint company and disposal of MISA Metals, a coil center to WOR, in February.

Both companies entered into the contract on March 1st to establish Dietrich Industries, the largest light steel frame maker in the U.S.A., and Clark Dietrich, the second light steel frame maker.

Marubeni Itochu Steel America invested US$ 175 million and acquired the share of 75% from Clark Dietrich. Clark Dietrich has 13 factories coast-to-coast and produces steel sheet for building material such as light gauge steel. The sales are expected at US$ 600 million per year and 400,000 tonnes per year.
