Nankai Special Steel to Build New Plant

Osaka based special steel dealer, Nankai Special Steel establishes new plant for preparing process of die-holder making in Osaka starting operation in February 2012. The firm also moves part of its mold processing operation from Osaka based headquarters plant to improve productivity. The capital expenditure is about 1.2 billion yen including land purchase. The firm eyes mold recycle business in future.

The firm introduces 2 large sawing machines and 5-axis machining center at new plant with 4,000 square meters of floor space on 7,300 square meters site. The firm also transfers part of the facilities at other plant in Osaka.

Nankai Special Steel targets a fourth of lead time from material purchase to the process for die-holder compared with traditional time frame. The firm provides shorter lead time to contribute to speedy development in automobile industry. The firm enhances mold recycle business to collect and sort used mold and tool to sell special steel makers.

Nankai Special Steel sells and fabricates special steel products including tool steel for hot forging mold. The firm recently concentrates on mold making business and opened fabricating sites in headquarters, Tochigi and Shizuoka.
