Japan Secondary Al Alloy Makers Offer 15-20 Yen/kg Hike for March Shipment

Japanese major secondary aluminium alloy makers, including Daiki Aluminium Industry, Nikkei MC Aluminium and Summit Showa Aluminum, will offer price hike by around 15 yen per kilogram for AD12.1 grade alloy ingot and by around 20 yen per kg for casting material alloy effective for March shipment. They start price negotiations with secondary aluminium alloy users for March shipment this week.

Alloy ingot price was raised by average 5-8 yen for February shipment. However, alloy makers were not satisfied with the hike range since they offered price hike by more than 10 yen.

In February, aluminium scrap market price continued to surge by 10 yen per kg for high grade and by 5-7 yen per kg for low grade. Fuel and additive metal costs also increased. Alloy makers are suffered from productive cost upsurge and trying to reflect high cost on their ingot selling prices soon.
