Onamba to Close 2 Wire Harness Plants

Osaka based electronic wire maker, Onamba announced on Friday the firm closes 2 wire harness making plants of its subsidiary, East Onamba in Tochigi. Onamba plans to move wire harness production of the plants to other subsidiaries.

After the closure, Onamba has 3 wire harness plants, one of East Onamba and two of its subsidiary, West Onamba. Onamba will post around 100 million yen of extraordinary loss for the closure. The firm announces impact on earnings for fiscal 2010 ending this month as soon as possible.

Onamba also announced on Friday the firm posts 235 million yen of extraordinary loss for fiscal 2010 when its subsidiary, Onamba Indonesia’s net asset value per share will decrease to less than half of the book value. Onamba expects the loss has almost no impact on the consolidated results.
