Nippon Tokushukan to Expand Micro Precision Tube Capacity

Osaka based metal pipe maker, Nippon Tokushukan MFG. expands production capacity of micro precision tube for contact probe by 50% to monthly 2 million units. The firm adds cutting machine through June for 3,000 yen. The firm tries to meet growing demand for smart phone.

The tube is used for contact probe, which is used for inspection process of semiconductor chip. The firm succeeded to make micro alloy tube with 0.1 millimeters of outer diameter and 0.01 mm of thickness in 2007 to serve finer pitch of semiconductor trend. The firm increased the micro tube production to 10 times level in past 2 years.

The firm decided the expansion when the demand increases for automobile, industrial machinery and smart phone. The firm expands the output capacity by adding precision cutting machine.

The firm makes monthly around 100 tones of micro tube for various metals including brass and other copper alloy, stainless, titanium and nickel. The firm tries to expand the production of high valued products while the profitability is getting thin for copper tube business. The firm expects record profit for the year to September 2011 through the series of actions.
