Japanese import of carbon steel products decreased by 5.7% to 301,869 tonnes in February from the previous month, announced by Japan Iron & Steel Federation on Tuesday. The import volume decreased for many items including shape steels and steel sheets. Meanwhile, the total volume kept above 300,000 tonnes for 5 straight months due to strong yen trend.
The import from South Korea decreased by 7.7% to 206,733 tonnes. The import from China was 28,582 tonnes, decreasing by 9.8%. The import from Taiwan decreased by 4.7% to 58,726 tonnes.M | T | W | T | F | S | S |
