Nissei Precious Metals Doubles Philippine Silver Refinery

Tokyo based previous metal refinery, Nissei Precious Metals & Refined Products doubled Philippine refinery’s electrolytic output capacity to monthly 4 tonnes. The firm tries to expand the treatment from local precious metal scrap. The firm tries to improve the supply ability both in volume and quality.

The Philippine company has made monthly 2 tonnes of silver ingot at the plant with 3 silver refining electrolytic cells. The firm added 3 cells earlier the year to double the capacity. The firm uses high grade silver scrap at one line and silver scrap containing palladium at another line to improve the productivity.

The firm improved the pre-treatment process to increase the silver purity from 99.97% to 99.99% as Chiba plant. Without additional refining in Japan, the Philippine plant can supply higher grade products directly.

Nissei Precious Metals & Refined Products keeps high level silver production after the firm recorded the first annual 100 tonnes of production in Japan in the year ended November 2010. The firm targets more than 100 tonnes of production in the year ending November 2011 while the firm tries to improve the productivity.
