Japanese major die-casting maker, Ahresty is steadily increasing operation rate at its domestic plants. The rate at the plants is 60-80% while the condition changes everyday. Die-casting demand would increase when automobile makers resume the output.
Ahresty’s output at its main plant, Ahresty Tochigi significantly decreased when the major users of plants of 2 automobile makers stopped its operation due to the major earthquake. However, Ahresty’s main customer, Fuji Heavy Industries resumed output partly at its plant in Gunma on April 6 following light vehicle output resuming in the end of March. Nissan Motor also plans to resume the output at plant in Fukushima. Ahresty gets higher order at 4 plants in Saitama, Shizuoka and Aichi than the bottom. Ahresty keeps normal die-casting output at offshore plants in China, Mexico and USA while Japanese automakers reduce the operation rate after the earthquake due to parts supply shortage from Japan. Die-casting demand is unforeseeable at home and abroad. Japanese major automobile makers’ domestic output is around 50% in April compared with the original plan. The Japanese makers’ transplants keep the operation with stocked parts. However, die-casting makers see the die-casting demand would decrease when the transplants would reduce the output depending on the parts supply.Japan Steel Scrap Composite Prices (Sangyo Press)
