POSCO to Increase Japan Export Price by 15,000 yen/t

POSCO notified Japanese users that the firm increase steel export price by 15,000 yen to 83,000 yen per tonne for hot rolled coil and to 88,000 yen for cold rolled coil for April-June order from January-March, according to Japanese industry source.

POSCO announced the firm increases the selling price by 160,000 won or around 12,200 yen per tonne for domestic users from April 22 order and Japanese industry sources have been watching the pricing for Japan. China Steel Corporation in Taiwan and South Korean re-rollers also offered 5,000-10,000 yen higher price for Japanese users. Most of all makers in South Korea and Taiwan would increase the export price for Japan.

However, Anshan Iron and Steel left the hot rolled coil export price unchanged for export for Japan following Tokyo Steel Manufacturing left the domestic selling price unchanged for May order. Anshan Iron and Steel decreases cold rolled coil export price by US$ 30 per tonne.
