Asahi Seiren Stops Die-Casting Alloy Output for 10-14 Days

Osaka headed secondary aluminium alloy maker, Asahi Seiren suspends secondary aluminium alloy production for die-casting and casting products at headquarter factory and Hirano factory in Osaka Prefecture, and Chubu factory in Aichi Prefecture for 10-14 days. Along the suspension, these factories will stop material procurement from April 29 to May 8. Demand for die-casting and casting alloys is significantly decreasing due to automakers’ low operations after Japan Earthquake.

Asahi Seiren’s headquarter factory is suspended from April 25 to May 8. Chubu factory will stop from April 27 to May 8 and Hirano factory from April 29 to May 8. Asahi Seiren will put scheduled furnace maintenances ahead at the 3 factories and apply Employment Adjustment Subsidy.

Meanwhile, Ibaraki factory in Ibaraki Prefecture is scheduled to continue operation during long holidays from this weekend to early May. Ibaraki factory keeps high production of RSI (re-melted aluminium can scrap ingot). Material procurement will be suspended from April 29 to May 8 except for May 6.

Okayama factory in Okayama Prefecture will also continue production during long holidays except for May 2-4. Deoxidizing agent production stays at high level busy when steel plants in West Japan keep higher operations. Material procurement will be stopped during May 1-5.
