Japan Ferrous Scrap Export Hits 4-Months Low

Japanese ferrous scrap export was 4 months low at 424,000 tonnes in January, which was 24.4% lower than December level, according to Ministry of Finance. The export decreased by 30.8% from 612,000 tonnes in a year earlier.

Japanese ferrous scrap export decreased by 1.7% to 231,000 tonnes to South Korea in January from December, which decreased for 3 months in a row. The export decreased by 35.2% to 188,000 tonnes to China, which decreased for the firs time in 3 months. The export to Taiwan decreased by 92.6% to 2,000 tonne, which decreased for 2 months in a row.

The export decreased by 36% to South Korea in January from a year earlier, by 22% to China and by 75.2% to Taiwan.
