Japanese Secondary Al Output Turns Increase in January

Japanese secondary aluminium and aluminium alloy ingot production increased by 0.4% to 65,459 tonnes in January from a year earlier, which increased for the first time in 4 months, according to Japan Aluminium Alloy Refiners Association. The shipment increased by 1.0% to 65,414 tonnes, which increased for the first time in 2 months.

Secondary aluminium and aluminium alloy shipment increased for all applications except for extrusion in January from a year earlier. The shipment for main usage of die-casting increased for the first time in 2 months. The shipment for steel additive recovered. However, the demand slowed down for some applications. The shipment increase for die-casting was narrower at 0.6% than before.
