Daiki Enjoys Secondary Aluminium Alloy Sales Expansion in Southeast Asia

Daiki Aluminium Industries, Japanese largest secondary aluminium alloy maker, enjoyed wide range production and sales increase at the group companies in Thailand and Malaysia. Both plants increased the annual production by 50% in CY2010 from CY2009 and gained full-year net profits. Meanwhile, in Japan, Daiki will restart AD12.1 grade alloy production at Shirakawa plant in Furukushima Prefecture within this month.

Annual sales at Daiki Aluminium Industry (Thailand) totaled 51,982 tonnes in CY2010, increasing by 57% year-on-year. Daiki Aluminium Industry (Malaysia) increased its annual production by 46% to 19,011 tonnes year-on-year. Both companies turned to the annual black in CY2010. Daiki aims to increase the sales in Southeast Asia and South China when secondary aluminium alloy market is shrinking in Japan.

In Japan, Daiki will restart secondary aluminium alloy production at Shirakawa plant within May. Shirakawa plant restarted RSI (re-melted aluminium can scrap ingot) production on April 17 though the plant had been damaged by Japan Earthquake. Daiki stopped Shinshiro plant at the end of April, that temporarily had reentered operation as an alternate for Shirakawa plant.
