Tennaris NKK Tubes Gets High Rank in Japan Seamless Pipe Production

Tennaris NKK Tubes was 3rd position in Japanese hot finished seamless steel pipe production ranking in fiscal 2010 ended March 2011 while the firm was 4th position in fiscal 2009. Sanyo Special Steel was 4th position compared with 3rd position in fiscal 2009. The production increased by 34.9% to 1.777 million tonnes in fiscal 2010 from fiscal 2009 when the demand recovered for energy industry and manufacturing industry including construction machinery.

Sumitomo Metal Industries dropped the production share by 4.1 percentage points to 56.6% of the hot finished seamless pipe in fiscal 2010 from fiscal 2009. The production increased by 25.8% to 1.006 million tonnes. JFE Steel dropped the share by 0.7 point to 21.6% while the production increased by 30.3% to 383,000 tonnes.

Tennaris NKK Tubes raised the share by 3.8 points to 8.9% in fiscal 2010 from fiscal 2009 while the production increased to 2.36 times at 158,000 tonnes. Sanyo Special Steel raised the share by 1.1 points and the production increased.
