Toyota Steel Center Renews Slitter Line

Toyota Motor’s steel processing company, Toyota Steel Center, renewed one slitter line for improvement of quality, efficiency and safe performance. The firm installed auto blade setting facilities for the first time and prepares for the start of operation from September. Total investment is about1.5 billion yen.

The slitter line process pickled, cold rolled and surface treated steel sheet. The line can process 1,380 mega paschal grade high tensile steel sheet with 6 millimeters thick at maximum. The line can process 30 tonnes coil with 1.6-13 millimeters thick, 500-1,600 millimeters width and 2,100 millimeters diameter, which can slit up for the minimum size with 40 millimeters width 20 slits at once.

Toyota Steel Center can improve processing accuracy, energy efficiency and increase safe performance by installation of new slitter and auto blade setting equipment.

The firm has total 6 slitter lines around Nagoya and processes steel coil to Toyota Motor group companies.
