Japan Cu Tube Makers Try Price Hike by 70 yen/kg

Japanese major copper tube makers try to increase the selling price by around 70 yen per kilogram for the dealers, according to dealer sources. The makers try to increase lower transaction price.

The makers would increase the price step-by-step to total 70 yen per kg within the year. Some dealers approved the higher price for August delivery. However, the price increase seemed to be 10-20 yen per kg.

Copper tube price competition has been strong in Japan when domestic market is decreasing. However, the demand has been strong for air conditioner since hot summer in last year. The makers try to increase the selling price to cut the order.
