Nippon Steel Electrical Steel Renews Slitter Line

Japanese electrical steel processing company, Nippon Steel Electrical Steel launches commercial operation of renewed slitter line in a plant around Nagoya in early August. The firm also completes setting of new press machine in late August. The firm improves the preciseness of slitting and press to expand sales for automotive motor.

Nippon Steel Electrical Steel replaced an old slitting line in one of two plants around Nagoya with the new line to slit sheet with maximum 1,300 millimeters width and 0.15-1.0 mm thick into maximum 30 strips. The maximum speed is 200 meters per minute. The firm introduced internally designed equipment to improve the quality by holding tension to reduce surface defect and camber. The firm improves also productivity, energy efficiency and safety by the equipment.

The firm added new 300 tonnes press machine with high precision sensor. The firm improves the products quality through the series of the investment including the new press, mold grinder and temperature controlled room.
