AMJ Opens Hanoi and Beijing Subsidiaries to Reinforce Rare Metal Trading

Japanese major rare metal trading company, Advanced Material Japan Corporation (AMJ) will establish a local subsidiary in Hanoi, Vietnam within this year. AMJ plans to supply rare metals stably from Vietnam to Japan since Vietnam is rich in rare metal resource reservations. AMJ even eyes rare metal smelting business in Vietnam for future. Meanwhile, AMJ will also open a local subsidiary in Beijing, China to supply rare metal resources to Japanese customers’ local sites in the country.

Vietnam is rich in rare metal resources including rare earths, antimony, tungsten and tin though China holds large production share of these metal resources in the world. AMJ has already supplied rare metals from Vietnam to Japan and also implemented outsourced smelting of other countries’ rare metals from Vietnam.

AMJ decided to rank up Vietnamese office to the subsidiary in order to enlarge trading volume of Vietnamese rare metals as an important supply source. The subsidiary is likely to become AMJ’s 100% subsidiary. In future when AMJ starts smelting business of Vietnamese rare metals, AMJ plans to seek partnerships with other companies those who has smelting technologies.

AMJ has recently increased rare metal procurement from other countries than China, including Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Russia and Mongolia, since Chinese government has restricted its rare metal export every year. However, it is unchangeable fact that China continues to be one of the most important rare metal supplier despite of the government’s policy. Thus AMJ makes its Beijing office rank up to the subsidiary. In China, AMJ has also a local office in Shanghai.
