Ahresty’s Die Casting Production Steadily Recovers in Japan

Japanese major die casing maker, Ahresty expects its domestic die casting production volume could represent year-to-year plus in August. The domestic output volume in July is likely to reach 95% of a year earlier level along automakers’ operation recovery. The firm kept high level operation at plants in Tochigi Prefecture and Kumamoto Prefecture.

Ahresty’s domestic die casting production was 85% level in June compared with a year earlier level. The operation continued to improve in July. Japanese car makers are rapidly restoring productive operations. Then Ahresty’s order receipts largely exceeded the company’s original estimation in June. The operating rate especially improved to 95% at Tochigi plant and Kumamoto plant.

Tochigi plant could increase order receipts from Nissan Motor’s Iwaki plant and Fuji Heavy Industries’ Gunma plant. Kumamoto plant enjoyed order increase for automotive parts from Toyota Motor in Central Japan and other users in West Japan. The die casting production is expected to increase more at the both plants in August.

Hamamatsu plant and Toyohashi plant in Central Japan is also recovering the operating rate to 95% level compared with a year earlier level. The output volume is steadily increasing at almost all the domestic plants.

At overseas, Guangzhou Ahresty Casting, which is the productive subsidiary in Guangzhou Province, China, keeps high level operation though the July output would slightly decrease from the initial plan mainly due to the indirect impact of Japan Earthquake. In U.S.A., monthly production at another subsidiary, Ahresty Wilmington would represent 20% lower then the plan in July. Japanese automakers’ U.S. plants continued low level operations due to component supply troubles from Japan.
