Secondary Al Exporters Offer High Price for Japan

Offshore secondary aluminium ingot suppliers increased export offer price to US$ 2,380-2,430 per tonne for the ingot with 90% aluminium base metal for buyers around Nagoya. The higher import price impacts on domestic market. However, Japanese ingot price is flat at 190 yen per kilogram due to lower price for long term contract buyers.

The offshore ingot suppliers try to increase the export price for Japan when Japanese users increase the purchase and US dollar weakens against yen. The export offer price increased to around 200 yen per kg including expenses based on 78-79 yen per US dollar. The higher ingot arrives in Japan in and after October. One Japanese trading firm source sees the ingot price would lift domestic market price.
